2025 ECC Events
Many of our events are an end-result of the ECC Annual Service Auction, a Community fundraiser held (usually) the second Saturday of March, that provides scholarship money for education. Its mission is to assist in providing the opportunity of a Catholic high-school education for inner-city grade-school students. Our 2025 beneficiary school was Immaculate Conception High School, Montclair, NJ.
This auction is also one of the major Community social events of the year, complete with a different theme each year--with music, decorations, and Community members in theme-related costume adding to the wonderful energy and spirit of the event. Community members get to know one another better throughout the year by selling and buying of services from one another (examples: Hosting a dinner party, baby-sitting, or leading a day hike in a state park).
Our 2025 Annual Auction raised funds for student tuitions at Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair, run by the Sisters of Charity.

which had a theme of “Game Night.”
Our Annual Service Project: 22 Emmaus members gathered in the Shrine auditorium to make bag lunches for distribution at St. Joseph’s Service Center in Elizabeth. We made 298 lunches, each consisting of two sandwiches, a granola bar and fruit. Our service project is part of our continuing efforts to follow God’s command to feed the hungry. We also collect food and household items on a monthly basis for distribution at SJSSC.
Women's Dinner - 4 chefs (Paul, George, Don, and Gordy) annually prepare and serve a dinner for the women only. Appetizers, beverages, a multi-course dinner, and dessert along with lots of laughs makes for a great night out!
Lucky bidders at the ECC annual service auction were treated to a nature walk in the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge! The weather was perfect and fun was had. The group learned about pollinators, how the Swamp was saved from becoming a jetport in the late 50's, glacial Lake Passaic, and more.
Our 2025 Barbeque (one of our Auction items) took place on a classic, beautiful summer day with the best food, a corn hole tournament, and fun for everyone who attended!
As part of last year's auction, Ann Kahn planned a sailing expedition in the Hudson - an absolutely perfect day for being on the water, the group had a wonderful time!
